Covid-19 Vaccines: You need to read it before you run from it.
Covid-19 Vaccines: You
need to read it before you run from it.
Before you dismiss Covid-19 vaccination and find a way to escape it, know that this is not new for you. Since your childhood you have been receiving dozens of vaccines for various virus, bacteria and disease prevention. I realize this lately when I took my son for basic vaccination to a vaccine centre. I learned that this new baby has to undergo a lot of vaccination process every day, week and month. They included BCG, OPV, IPV, Pentavalent Vaccine, Measles, and Rotavirus etc. So, when your body contains so many dead organisms (vaccines, protective gears) etc. what harm can another vaccine do to your body? The point told here is all about explaining the rationale behind being a rational citizen of the country who does not believe in hearsays and also researches about everything he/she comes across.
WHO and other relevant
health experts are of the opinion that above 3 million people yearly are
vaccinated against various diseases and they are actually saved. They are also
advising that some of the people who are old with fragile health cannot get vaccinated.
So, their life depends upon those among us who are healthy but exposed to
diseases/viruses. Because when the healthy carry the protective
shield—vaccinated—the old and fragile do not get the virus. This is how, if not
the entire population, most of the population is saved.
Let’s educate our children. The debate over whether Corona is real or a hoax is
over now. People after seeing dead bodies of their friends, colleagues,
relatives or family member who succumbed to the Corona virus, have started to
believe in the doctors and experts. Why we as a nation always learn things the
hard way?
After having done with the Corona prevention phase, governments around the
world have begun vaccinating their population. So far, through stats, we come
to know that Pakistani Govt. has given out 7.95 million doses to 2.17 million people
successfully. Among the vaccinated population no adverse effects have been
reported yet. Those who start undergoing weird changes in their bodies is due
to the fact that they are already on high doses of medicines. The overall
situation in Pakistan is normal and under control. Vaccination started with
60years age people and it has now been narrowed down to 30 and to the
teenagers. This gradual culmination was due to the fact that if the vaccine
does not yield positive outcomes when 60 and above years old are vaccinated, it
may be reconsidered for the rest of the population. So, the test cases have
yielded positive results. Also note here that if you are vaccinated today you
will not die but live for as long as you are destined.
Let’s tell you what vaccine you may subscribe to given your age group and
compatibility.
There is this survey done by one of the mostly read newspapers, Dawn Newspaper
about vaccine compatibility with the age group. This survey contains Q/As about
Covid-19 vaccines.
I will simply list down the questions and answers responded to by one of the
health experts of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Society of
Pakistan who is a professor at Agha Khan University Hospital:
1. Does Covid-19 vaccine adversely affect immune
system of the body?
Ans: No.
2. Should patients with diabetes, high blood
pressure and arthritis get vaccinated?
Ans: Population with the ibid mentioned diseases are advised to get
vaccinated since their bodies are most at risk and can be protected by this
vaccine.
3. Should patients getting dialysis, insulin and
with transplants receive this vaccine?
Ans: Yes. Because their immune system becomes weak when they undergo these
diseases so they are the ones who need this vaccine more.
4. What about patients of hepatitis, TB and HIV?
Ans: They must get vaccinated.
5. Can this vaccine adversely affect cells and
tissues? Married couples starting a family are worried. What are the recommendations?
Ans: Corona vaccine does not affect fertility. It does not harm tissues and
cells. Scientifically, it is next to impossible to temper with fertility or
tissues and cells through vaccines.
6. Is this vaccine recommended for pregnant women?
Ans: All vaccines are safe and more updates are to come with regards to this
vaccination of expectant mothers.
7. What age group should not get vaccinated?
Ans: When getting vaccination medical practitioners may be asked to at least
examine your body. Severely ill, hospitalized, and patient with acute allergic
reactions to vaccine must ask their doctor to have an examination of their
overall health. There are always exception and here the exception must not be
decided by oneself but doctors and medical practitioners.
8. Children are not being vaccinated. Why?
Ans: Scientifically, WHO and other related health organizations are yet to
decide whether children can be vaccinated or othwersie. Reason being this is
the final group to receive the jab. So, the experts need more researches and
examination into the safety of vaccine for this age group.
9. Given the fragile health of 60 years old, why
are they being vaccinated first?
Ans: 60 and above age group have weaker immune system. Vaccines can protect
them from virus that’s why they are the most recommended group among all.
10. Which of the vaccines one is required to
receive?
Ans: One dose of one vaccine type is suffice.
11. People over 50 who lately recovered may get
vaccinated?
Ans: Immunity is always exposed to viruses and diseases. So, even if one has
recovered from Covid-19 may go for a jab.
12. Why is only AstraZenec vaccine recommended by
the Pakistani health authorities?
Ans: After threadbare researches by the concerned health experts, this
vaccine type is recommended for Pakistan. The same vaccine type is administered
in EU. This type is done in Pakistan as per the advice of WHO and local
epidemiologists. However, researches are continue to look for more details and
updates on vaccines compatibility and effectiveness.
13. How do people register themselves for this
vaccine?
Ans: Citzens of almost all groups may send their CNIC No. to 1166 or by the
website provided by NIMS.
